I keep API keys on a backend I build for you, never on the device. Native rewrites only make sense for heavy on-device inference or hardware integrations.

Yes, within limits. Small language and speech models run on modern phones with ExecuTorch, llama.rn or Core ML, which is what my Enterprise mobile tier uses for privacy-sensitive features and offline use. Larger models still belong in the cloud. The usual design is hybrid: on-device for transcription, classification and quick replies, cloud for anything that needs a frontier model, with a router that picks per request.
